New York may sue the federal government over travel restrictions on New Yorkers. In February, the Trump administration barred New Yorkers from participating in the Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) after the state passed a law allowing undocumented immigrants to get driver?s licenses and blocking federal authorities from accessing DMV records. On July 23, the U.S. Attorney?s Office admitted that it had made inaccurate statements when fighting a lawsuit brought by New York over the issue, and that DHS would lift the ban. On July 24, Governor Cuomo said that New York was looking into possible claims for civil damages against DHS.
